Logic Pro X crackling noise. If it's crackling when you're recording change the buffer size to 256 or lower and reset core audio either by reinitalizing in logic. You have to git bisect and build yourself to binary search through ~1500 commits and see where it starts to change behavior. My set up is a late 2011 15' Macbook Pro, 16Gig Ram, 1TB solid state drive, 2.2Ghz i7 processor, using Echo Firewire8 audio interface at 4800Khz (I've used 44k and the macs inbuilt core audio at 48 and 44 resolution with the same results). HEEEELPPP!!! Hello there tech guru's! I am currently unable to record due to a crackling/ringing noise coming through my speakers! My audio chain is Aston Origin Condenser Mic, hooked up to my M-Audio Fast Track Pro, connected to my Rokit KRK's.

Things were fine before but just yesterday when i was recording i noticed that my voice was a little bit robotic. When i changed around the above settings the crackling noise came in and even when my mic is disconnected the signal levels in my meter read at -37 db !!!

I sometimes have a similar problem--and I'm not even on Leopard yet. I suspect it may have to do with Firewire/core audio drivers and (in your case) perhaps a change to them in Leopard --what kind of interface do you have? Also, have you tried anything like changing the sample rate to a new value then back in Audio/MIDI? That sometimes helps for my trouble, as, sometimes, does unplugging my Firewire interface and plugging it back in again. (And I'm hoping that my problem will be fixed when I upgrade to Leopard).
